- The eSkootr Championship and Bison have created the first bespoke professional urban racing suit for e-scooter riders.
- Based on the Bison V1 “vegan” motorcycle suit, the eSC outfit consists of a two-piece suit, gloves and boots made from 1000D Cordura and SuperFabric® built for the unique way that riders fall during racing.
- Family-owned and operated, Bison produces high quality, e-scooter specific gear while minimizing the environmental and social impact of production.
- Bison will be taking a ate-stage prototype of the suit to Micromobility America on November 14th-15th.
LONDON, UK – The eSkootr Championship and racing suit manufacturer Bison will launch the very first bespoke eSC racing suit ahead of the upcoming season.
CHARGING UP FOR AN EXCITING PARTNERSHIP
As the championship had previously used motorcycle leathers due to the similarity of the two sports, Bison stood out to eSC for being one of the first companies to create a tested and true “vegan” motorcycle suit.
On starting the eSC suit design process, Robert Lackey, Co-founder and CEO, Bison said, “The unique thing about designing an eSkootr kit is that there aren’t any existing templates or concepts for how the items should look or perform. The e-mobility segment is still in its infancy, and this is especially true when it comes to the protective gear.”
Inspired by the futuristic look of the eSkootr Championship S1-X racing scooter as well as Tron, cyberpunk and urban street wear, the eSC suit is made of two-pieces accompanied by bespoke gloves and boots. This lays the groundwork for the future ambition to make a customised version of the eSC x Bison suit available to fans at race events and online.
KEY FEATURES
The suit is made of a “vegan” construction combining 1000D Cordura and SuperFabric®. CE Level 2 armour is placed in 12 impact areas and dual-compound external protectors reinforce the shoulders and knees during a slide. Accordion panelling on the back, shoulders, arms and knees offers additional dexterity and a more comfortable fit.
The gloves are built to be light weight, using synthetic suede and SuperFabric®. Velcro panels attach the gloves to the suit cuffs creating a seamless look.
The boot is made predominantly of synthetic suede and falls just below the calf to give riders ample mobility. Velcro straps at the top of the boot attach to the bottom of the suit leg. A ratcheting lace system and Velcro strap provide strong yet simple fastening atop a dual-compound rubber sole designed for maximum grip and durability.
DESIGNED FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
With this brand-new design, Bison and eSC together aim to lay the foundations to grow the e-scooter segment sustainably, minimizing the environmental and social impact of racing operations. Bison’s supplying factory is also family-owned and operated, and they connect with them frequently to ensure fair working conditions are maintained.
Now in its final prototyping stages, Bison will be taking the suit to Micromobility America on November 14-15th to give micromobility industry leaders and fans a first look.
Hrag Sarkissian, the eSkootr Championship™ Co-founder and CEO, said, “Inspired by city life, the eSC x Bison suit is a testament to our urban foundations and our ambition to promote cleaner, more liveable cities through our sport. We are proud to partner with Bison to create an innovative new suit that will define the segment for e-scooter racing within our championship and beyond.”
Rob Lackey, Co-Founder and CEO, Bison Track LLC, said, “My personal experience with the eSC suit, gloves and boots have been very positive and exciting. The two-piece construction gives versatility and translates to a relatable look for spectators who might wear similar gear during their commutes or in spirited fun runs. We’re very excited about the direction of this project and look forward to the entire kit coming together in all the teams’ unique liveries!”
