eSC Italy was scheduled to take place on 15-16 July at Porto Antico in Genoa. The organisation of eSkootr Championship rounds, held in city centres around the world, relies on the support of local authority scheduling and specialist administrative support services. An alternative date has been proposed and eSC looks forward to working with stakeholders to bring the championship to Italy.
As a consequence of this date change, the second half of the 2022 calendar will need to be reviewed in light of logistical considerations and to ensure eSC achieves the target of a minimum five-round championship in its debut season.
Hrag Sarkissian, eSC co-founder and CEO, said: “It is a shame to have to postpone our third event, albeit by just a few weeks. We continue to work closely with the local authorities and other stakeholders, including our teams and partners, on plans for later in the summer.
“We remain committed to racing in Italy. Our round 2 race winner Sara Cabrini is one of two Italian riders in the championship, our Helbiz team and technical partners YCOM, Bcomp and PMT Tyres are all headquartered in Italy, and it is a key destination relevant to our mission of promoting more sustainable and liveable cities.
“We’d like to thank eSC’s many fans around the world for their understanding, and our riders look forward to racing again soon.”
