eSC reveals the second livery of the upcoming season with the Electric Renegades led by Team Principal Ellis Spiezia. As an electric racing driver, Ellis’ brand is already established –currently to be seen racing in Travis Pastrana’s Nitrocross series –and has recently been adapted to suit the unique features of the S1-X.
The Ellysium brand was originally developed in 2018 when Ellis began his professional indoor karting and sim racing career. “Ellysium” was his gamer tag on xBox and it only felt right that this would be his race team name too. Family friend, Eric Kass at Funnel designed the current Ellysium branding.
“He took cues from Interstellar, Deus ex Machina, SpeedRacer and my love for Japanese race culture to create the look. The black and white livery is a nod to Initial D. I want my brand to feel futuristic and fast, and it’s looking really great on the S1-X!”
For his eSC team, the Electric Renegades, the Ellysium branding has been adapted for the S1-X featuring design features such as their signature “E” logo, the black and white split and the ‘Age of Light’ messaging. The Initial D-inspired black bonnet has also made it onto the S1-X with the front of the scooter featuring solid blocks of black and white.
“My dad and I worked together to take the best elements and make them suit the sleek lines of the S1-X. It’s also pretty awesome to think about three of these racing around the track instead of just one Ellysium livery car!”
Leading the Electric Renegades is also an opportunity for Ellis to occasionally step away from being a racer himself and take on a leadership role for the Ellysium brand providing an exciting next step in his career by expanding the influence of his vision.
“Being able to have fellow Renegades with such impressive racing backgrounds take to the track at eSC under the Ellysium banner is really special and makes me feel like all the hard work I’ve done over the past five years to build something unique is going to have the support of these amazing riders and their fans too.”
The Ellysium mission is to blaze a new trail in electric racing by inspiring the next generation through education and technology and the Ellysium S1-X livery continues building out this messaging in the micro-mobility space.
Asked about what he wants his team to represent to the world, Ellis said:
“I believe the rewards of being first far outweigh the risks. I want my team to represent the willingness to take risks, to lead in a new space and of course to be competitive and win. I want commitment, strategic thinking and a lot of passion from my riders, on and off the track.”
