Introducing Jess Shanahan’s RM Electric Line-Up

Racing Mentor founder, journalist and e-mobility advocate, Jess Shanahan's, rider line-up currently consists of returning rider Danny Skinner and rookie Lokesh Venkatesh with her third rider yet to be announced.

Danny Skinner

Danny Skinner's love of motorsports drove him to a career as a mechanic building supercars for F1 powerhouse McLaren in Woking. When the Covid-19 pandemic put a halt to his employment, he found a new role working in an electric scooter workshop.

Fellow eSC rider Jordan Rand got in touch about acquiring a scooter and that alerted Danny to eSC. In preparation for the first season, the 35-year-old lost 25kg to give himself a competitive advantage. While he has driven karts for recreation the eSkootr Championship is Skinner’s first entry into professional motorsport.

After a successful eSC trial season, he has continued working at McLaren and spending time with his two daughters and is now excited to get back on the S1-X for his second season.

Lokesh Venkatesh

Born and raised in India, Lokesh has been a professional motorcycle racer since 2018 most recently placing as the 1st runner-up in the Indian National Championships in the Stock 300-400cc category in 2024.

Outside of racing, he has helped set the Indian national record for the longest distance covered in 24 hours on the TVS Apache RR310. He also works as a motorcycle tester and trainer, enjoying not only developing the machinery but also the next generation of motorcycle racers.
