The eSkootr Championship and scientist, sustainability advocate and TV-Show Host of RTÉ’s What’s Next, Fionn Ferreira today reveal the livery for his eSC racing team: Green Journey Racers.
Fionn became an innovator in the sustainability field at just 16, when his invention to remove microplastics using a magnet-based fluid (or ferrofluid) was recognized with a win in the Google Science Fair. He has since undertaken numerous projects in the field of sustainable research. Leading an eSC team is his next move to further spread his mission using the thrill of micromobility sports as another platform to engage his sustainably-minded audience.
His team, Green Journey Racers, races under three core values: innovation, sustainability and diversity. The branding “is inspired by the idea of merging speed with sustainability. We wanted the livery to symbolize eco-conscious living and the movement toward greener, cleaner urban spaces. The design embraces innovative aesthetics that reflect a commitment to creating a more sustainable future.”
In its sleek, simple and EV-tech inspired design the Green Journey Racers logo leverages both the image of the electric scooter but also the sentiment of the continuous journey that sustainable development is through an infinity effect on the wheels. “It’s about making every race a step towards a greener world and demonstrating that sustainability and thrilling performance go hand in hand.”
The logo is set on a colourful backdrop reflecting the community impetus of the team. Fionn’s community and their enthusiasm for his eco-conscious initiatives have strongly influenced the design choices and he has “worked to create a visual identity that’s vibrant, engaging, and accessible to a young, global audience.”
As always, Fionn is also thinking about the bigger picture and planning on using his eSC involvement to activate more solutions-based thinking that benefits the environment.
“Our biggest goal this season is to prove that sustainability and high-performance racing can work together. Beyond competitive success, we want to use this platform to raise awareness about sustainable urban mobility solutions and inspire cleaner, greener cities through the excitement of eSkootr racing.”
The Green Journey Racers will soon be racing around city circuits in the upcoming eSC season championing the power of micromobility in reducing carbon emissions in our cities.
